For Employers

Q - How many job positions can be posted on www.kyffaworks.com once we are enrolled?

A - Company partners can submit information for as many jobs as they are regularly hiring for on the Kentucky FFA Works website. If more than 3 jobs are desired, information for additional postings can be emailed to info@kyffaworks.com.

Q - When will we receive our top match list of candidates?

A - Top match lists, as well as complete candidate lists, will be sent via email to the contact provided on the enrollment application no later than
June 15th, 2024. 

Q - How does the placement fee work?

A - Invoices for placement fees will be sent six months after hired students have been working on the job. From each placement fee, $500 will be sent back to the local FFA chapter from where each hired student is from as a form of support to the local programs that are training the next generation of Kentucky’s workforce. As a thank you for joining Kentucky FFA Works during our pilot phase, your first hire is free!

Q - During the pilot phase, can we update the job postings for 2025?

A - Absolutely! In 2025, We will revisit with our company partners to provide updates and changes for any job postings available to senior FFA members. 

For FFA Members

Q - Who is eligible to apply?

A - Current senior Kentucky FFA members who are seeking full-time employment immediately following graduation are eligible to apply. 

Q - How do I apply?

A - From April 1st to May 15th, the application for students will be open. To apply, go to
www.kyffaworks.com and click the “Apply” button to submit your application. Make sure to read the “For FFA Members” section to fully understand the process. 

Q - When will I hear back from companies after I apply?

A - Students that submit an application can expect to be notified from potential employers anywhere from May through mid July to set up an interview. Students will hear directly from employers and all job offers will be made by August 1st, 2024. Be sure to check out best practices for preparing your application and interview on the “For FFA Members” section of our website.

Q - What are some best practices when completing my application?

A - Don’t sell yourself short! Consider all of your FFA and personal experiences that you could include in your resume and application. Employers will value the commitments you have made in the past ranging from degrees earned in FFA, SAE experience, industry certifications earned, officer positions held, etc. There are so many great resources online to help you build a resume and cover letter as well. Take a look at the resources available on www.kyffaworks.com under “For FFA Members” to get started. 

Q - Does this job application require a resume and cover letter?

A - Yes. Prior to submitting your application, you will need to review the “For FFA Members” page and the available job postings on www.kyffaworks.com. Then, you will need to create a resume and cover letter highlighting your FFA experience, SAE experience, industry certifications, skills, etc. Please refer to the tips and tricks on the “For FFA Members” page when creating your resume and cover letter.

For Teachers

Q - Who is eligible to apply?

A - Current senior Kentucky FFA members who are seeking full-time employment immediately following graduation are eligible to apply. 

Q - When do I receive the reference form after one of my students applies?

A - Immediately! You should receive an email from info@kyffaworks.com with a link to a quick reference form. If you do not receive the email, check your spam or junk folders.

Q - Is there an opportunity for guest speakers?

A - Many of our partner employers are eager to market their job openings with Kentucky FFA members. Feel free to directly contact the main contact person listed under each company description on our website to inquire about potential guest speakers.

Q - When will my chapter receive the placement fee after a student is hired?

A - With the exception of the “first hire free” promotion, local FFA chapters will receive $500 to their program for each hired student that has successfully stayed on the job for six months. Checks will be mailed to chapters approximately from January-February of 2025. 

Q - How are the hired students being recognized by Kentucky FFA?

A - All hired students will be recognized by Kentucky FFA through many formats. We look forward to celebrating student success on the Kentucky FFA Works website, Kentucky FFA social media, and on Growing Kentucky’s Leaders, a podcast brought to you by the Kentucky FFA Foundation.
